Meeting upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. The balance of the day is at leisure.
Day 2 - Lima
Depart for a tour of this ancient colonial city. Visit the historical center of Lima. See the Plaza Mayor, where the Government Palace, City Hall are located. Overnight same hotel. (B)
Day 3 - Depart Lima
Transfer to airport. (B)
Lake Titicaca - 3 Days/2 Nights
Day 1 - Cuzco/Puno
Full day bus ride across the Altiplano, passing through picturesque villages and arriving in Puno in the late afternoon. Transfer to your hotel.
Day 2 - Puno (Lake Titicaca)
Morning tour of the floating islands of the Uros, an ancient Indian lake tribe, maintaining traditions and way of life as they have for centuries. In the afternoon, visit the mysterious burial grounds of Sillustani. Return to our hotel in Puno for overnight. (B)
Day 3 - Depart Puno/Juliaca
Transfer to airport in Juliaca for your departure flight... (B)
Nazca/Paracas - 2 Days/1 Night
Day 1 - Lima/Ica (Nazca Lines)
Begin a five-hour drive towards Ica. Here you'll board a small plane to view the mysterious Nazca drawings. The Nazca lines are a series of huge geometric designs and drawings, some over 1,000 feet in size, etched in the crest of the arid desert by ancient civilizations, visible only from the air. After lunch, continue to the town of Parascas. Overnight at the Paracas Hotel. (D)
Day 2 - Paracas Reserve/Lima
Morning departure to the Paracas Reserve, Peru's largest coastal wildlife sanctuary, including the Ballestas Islands, reached from Paracas by boat. These islands are home to thousands of migratory sea birds, who share their habitat with herds of sea lions and fur seals. Return back to Lima with a stop at the Inca shrine of Pachacamac. (B/L)
Cuzco and Machu Picchu - 4 Days/3 Nights
Day 1 - Arrive Cuzco
Meeting upon arrival and transfer to your hotel. After a morning rest to adjust to the high altitude, we tour the city and ruins of Sacsayhuaman, the stone carvings of Kenkco and Tambo Machay.
Day 2 - Cuzco/Machu Picchu
An early morning train ride through Ollantaytambo and Urubamba, transferring at Putucusi Bridge for the bus ascent to Machu Picchu. Upon arrival, we explore the temples, houses and altars of the Lost City of the Incas. A buffet lunch and more exploration of this ancient citadel. Overnight at your Machu Picchu hotel. (B/L)
Day 3 - Machu Picchu/Cuzco
After breakfast, morning at leisure to explore this ancient mystical wonder. Return to Cuzco for overnight. (B)
Day 4 - Depart Cuzco
Transfer to the airport for departure. (B)
Tambopata Amazon Reserve - 3 Days/2 Nights
Day 1 - Cuzco/Tambopata Reserve
We board dugout canoes for a 3-hour trip up the Tambopata River that takes us to the National Wildlife Reserve of Tambopata to view some of the world's most unusual wildlife. Evening tour and overnight at your lodge. (L/D)
Day 2 - Tambopata Reserve
Tambopata is considered one of the world's most abundant natural wildlife reserves. Full day hike to the Cocochoca Lagoon and other Amazon forest sites to see native bird's and other jungle animals. Return to your lodge. (B/L/D)
Day 3 - Tambopata Reserve/Cuzco
Morning transfer by canoe to Puerto Maldonado for our return flight to Cuzco. (B)
